About

Welcome to West Coast Honey (WCH), a family-run business that has grown from a humble beginning of five hives to managing over 1000 production hives. Today, our product is enjoyed in households and businesses across South Africa.

Natural, raw goodness

We offer only natural West Coast Raw honey. Fynbos honey being our primary product. We do not sell imported irradiated or adulterated honey. Our product is organic and also badger-friendly.

From our family to yours

WCH is a family-driven business, from managing the beehives to harvesting, extracting, bottling, marketing, and delivery.

Founded in 2013 with little knowledge of apiculture but a keen interest, we embarked on a quest for self-education and practical beekeeping exposure. This has been a rewarding process that has helped WCH grow from strength to strength.

Our gratitude to those who helped us along the way (and continue to do so)- from workers of other beekeepers and commercial beekeepers in the Western Cape to the Western Cape Bee Industry Association (WCBA) and workshops offered by various knowledgeable individuals. And of course or own dedicated staff.

Client care

Customers enjoy personal attention from our family via online orders or personal contact in our shop.

We sincerely hope your experience buying honey from us will be memorable and give you a better understanding of bees and pure raw honey production.

One of our customers wrote-“it has an unbelievable taste of the veld and we can just dream we are among the Restios, the suurvye and the skilpadbessiebos, hearing the call of the korhaan as we taste it..”

For the love of bees

We believe bees play a critical role in the food chain - whether for humans or animals. Although we only concentrate on honey production, we greatly appreciate fellow beekeepers who offer pollination services.

Honey has been humankind’s most potent source of sweetness since ancient times. In our own Western Cape, ancient rock art from thousands of years ago, depicts early hunter-gatherer societies raiding bees’ nests.

Bees are essential for the health of mankind and the planet. Honey and other products have medicinal properties, and the role of bees as pollinators makes them vital for food security.
